“Yeshua is our Kinsman Redeemer, our Rabbi, our Strength, and our Good Shepherd”
Guiding Inspiration
A poem (as adapted from http://www.shomreitorahsynagogue.org)
…
Why Chavurah? I saw a sea of faces, seated row by row,
And as I looked into them, not one face did I know.
On what was taught to be the Lord’s holy day, the faces, they were kind,
Yet I couldn’t rid my thoughts of something gnawing at my mind.
The prayers and songs resounded beautifully and filled up the hall,
The sermons were inspiring, moving one and all.
I enjoyed hearing the Gospels, but parts of God’s Law were not taught.
I felt that something was missing and I longed to find out just what.
I began to feel that I was not growing and my spirit longed for more.
My desire to walk closer with the Lord began to overwhelm me, this I knew for sure.
Then I felt Him calling me, but what should I do?
I wanted to walk in obedience, how could I go about it, who should I talk to?
And then I received an invitation & application, which I promptly considered and filled out,
And after attending, I discovered what “Messianic/Hebraic Chavurah” was all about.
Being part of a Chavurah has added so much to my life,
Our fellowship members are there for celebrations.
Our fellowship members are there in times of strife.
A homogeneous group within Spiritual Israel is what they’re said to be, but much more like an extended family is what they are to me!
